During the half term, I was sitting on my sofa wondering ” How on earth should do my homework”? I know that is really simple to do homework, you have all the details on the sheet. But Mr Sloan didn’t give us a comprehension sheet or anything dull (which he never does, he’s like the perfect teacher), he gave us a mission. The first thing that came through my mind was that I needed to find some black clothes and watch all of the James Bond because I thought that I was going to be a spy ( only joking of course). Our homework was to find different types of birds and tally the scores of all the birds we could see. At that moment I felt that I had just been captured by James Bond when he had found I was a meanie. Anyway, I knew that I couldn’t do it, I mean I don’t live in the country I lived in a city. Everything I had hoped for for an excellent piece of homework had joust been crushed. Back to the day I was sitting on my sofa I heard my mum calling me. ” Sharon, time to ,go “. I then remembered that my mum had a special meeting. I hadn’t even got out of my pyjamas yet. Zooming out and in rooms I was finally ready. When we got there we had found that we had gone the wrong date so we decided to go to Alexandera Palace. To be honest I had never been there before. And we were in for a treat because we spotted a river and I had a lightbulb moment. I could do my homework here. But then my mum had a piece of paper and pen so I could write down all the birds I could see ( you see ,you can always reily on mums to do everything). So I did. I felt so relaxed and calm like nothing could get in my way. I learnt that I don’t have to do homework indoors and make homework boring. Be imaginative and never give up!

Well done, Sharon, I enjoyed reading your approach to homework.
I’m pleased to see your school are blogging about maths. I’m starting work with a new group of Y6 on maths this week, and I’m hoping to use my blog with them. I hope you, Mr Sloan or others in your school will visit us!
Thank you so much! Yes I am 10 years old!
I like your writing Sharon and if you keep on doing it then you will be a journalist if you keep it up.
i love your writing sharon if you keep writing like this you will become a journalist for sure.
I like your thinking Sharon, makes learning more fun.. mr Sloan is a great teacher, get him to help you add photographs. I like pictures and I’ve never been to Alexandra palace. it’s easy to add paragraphs if you throw in a few pictures.
I think this is a fabulous recount. I particularly like how you have used brackets and the description of you ‘zooming in and out of rooms’ to get ready. Sharon, are you really only 10 years old?!
If I were to give you one tip to improve your writing, I think it would be to group your sentences into paragraphs to make it a bit easier to read. Keep the writing up!
Wow! What a good way of doing homework!
Well done Sharon I hope you had a good time doing your homework and I agree you should be imaginative and never give up its for having a go and to believe that you can do it. That’s how you do it, just believe you can do it and you might succeed your mission/challenge.
