“Mum, just sign the letter, for crying out loud!” you would screech and pester your parents on a day to day basis “Why? A blog is just another ridiculous website which children waste time gaping and writing hopeless things on it. I mean why in the world would you want such an atrocious thing!” your conserned (but SO incorrect) parent would shout back . And anyway, how would they know. What type of experience would a parent have? There were not even any use of computers during their childhood. We kids have as much experience as Albert Einstein does as a scientist. All people need is a little convincing, this article will do just that!
” A blog is a website where you learn how to improve your writing and to play games… BLAAH, BLAAH!” . Oh come on, think outside of the box. Of course you will learn to improve your work. However, when have you ever thought that billions of people from around the whole world would even bother to comment on your work? Well it has happened, and you’ll never guess who commented on my work. No it wasn’t an Arsenal football player, or Cheryl Cole. In fact it was someone ten times better. VALERIE BLOOM!! You know, the famous poet, an inspiration to all. I just came to school like regular and all I heard for the rest of the day was ” Oh Sharon you lucky girl, Valerie Bloom commented on your work AAH!” I felt like fainting (literally!) And from that day forth I had a term full of opportunities glimmering in your heart. Now Brainpop, I’m sure you have heard of them, if not they are THE most famous company to do with blogging in all of the U.K! You’ll never believe ha happened, Mr Sloan has given my the stupendous honour to write an article explaining exactly what true blogging is to a class like yr5. I mean I don’t that this would ever be possible to do as a child, do you? I felt outstandinglyH brilliant knowing that there is something in me worth to show and it could be adored by dozens of people. ” Wow, that’s amazing I can’t believe you got to do all this. What more could you want?” you might wonder. Well there’s a lot more. After a while I as just popping into class until I found that Mr Sloan had a gigantic parcel in his hand ” Parcel’s arrived for you, Sharon!” I hadn’t the foggiest idea of what he was talking about. Personally I was hoping that it was big wads of money to share with teachers (of course)! Although it wasn’t there were four books, joined along with a letter. It said that I could write a book review and they would publish it on a teachers magazine! I was utterly speechless! I mean that moment is extremely rare to little girls, don’t you think!
My point here is that all these fabulous things could happen to anyone (even you) anything you adore you should express your love for that subject. I haven’t written this to brag about myself, this is for anyone who BELIEVES!!

Sharon, you know I’m a fan of your writing and nothing has changed there! I’m SO pleased you’re getting these rare opportunities and I know you’ll make the most of them. I really must try to get hold of some of your book reviews.
While I’m here, can I also say thank you for the article you wrote for BrainPOP because I sent a link to it to the deputy head teacher at the school where I work. I was trying to convince her to let me start a blog with my class and I think your article really helped! That is the kind of impact your writing is having. :)
Well done Sharon! You are making all of us at Ferry Lane proud. You are one talented young lady! Never give up your love of writing.
wow this is pretty amazing you should visit our blog chorlton park primary and mr sloan used to work here i remember him
Hi Sharon,
We are very honoured to be included in your wonderful post. We’re just blown away that you’ve been asked to review books for a Teacher’s magazine. How cool is that? Remember you don’t HAVE to like them. Tell it like it is. That’s why we like to read what you write – it’s from the heart, it’s real and it’s interesting.
When people come and work at BrainPOP the ability to write with passion, authenticity and skill is one of the key talents we encourage. But not just that, they need to write something every day, no matter if it’s a short tweet or a long blog post.
Good luck with the book review. When it’s all done send us a link. Maybe one day you can guest blog for us by yourself. Mr Sloan can get hold of us if you have any ideas.

Hi Sharon
I am speechless – well typeless to be 100% accurate! This post you have written is just sensational. I am the Deputy Headteacher at Heathfield Primary School in Bolton and your school and mine are linked through the Quad Blogging project that I’m sure you’ve heard of.
I really enjoy the style you place in your writing, it makes your writing stand out and come alive on the page. Your use of punctuation is outstanding as it makes the reader read your work in EXACTLY the way you intend them to do.
How fantastic is it that you have been asked to write book reviews for teachers? You are right…that doesn’t happen very often to girls your age, in fact you might be the first this has actually happened to.
I will be showing my pupils your post tomorrow and I’m sure they will be just as impressed as me!
Well done, keep blogging and enjoy your love of writing!
Mr. Mitchell
