What an amazing year, don’t you think ?

Now we come to the end of year5 , Yippee! we’re now going to year6 but it’s going to be stressful. I have learned loads of new and interesting things over the year which can help me next year in year6 , too bad we can’t go back on the old trips that we went to such as the Big Bang Fair, the Tardis but it was very difficult in year5. I enjoyed it in year5 and I hope it will be a bit more exciting in year 6 and did I tell you , Mr Sloan is still our teacher. Three cheers for year5 , hip hip HOORAY!

Lets go back to the first day of the year where we came into class and saw a old (not that old) man playing a piano. We were learning about a film called ‘ The Piano ‘ and we had to do loads of character descriptions and we had to write the story of the old man. I learned how to get into the man’s character and I needed to work on making sure it makes sense.

After the piano project , we entered Ancient Greece and we got to read the myths ( but not all of them). I learned that there are different kinds of gods in Ancient Greece such as Zeus god of the gods, Hera god of  love and  Poseidon god of the sea , and I also learnt that the capital of Greece is  Athens . There was a small island near Greece called Crete where King Minos keeps the  MINOTAUR!!  We created a mini film of  Theseus And The Minotaur and we had to make play scripts , sets, characters and photos.I learned how to write a myth into a interesting play script but I still needed to work on making sure it makes sense.

On a un-expected morning a camera crew came in and on the blog was a Dr Who post. We sat down and Mr Sloan  said ” We are going to be writing a play script for Dr Who” .  Everyone was very elated but it was hard work , I’m telling you it is hard to write a Dr Who script. We had to learn about the characters, we needed to know there personality and there appearance.

The next day we had to learn about the setting in doctor who , some of them were spooky but some were amazing and gigantic. After that we had to learn about the monsters, that was the best subject out of all of them. First we acted out as weeping angels. They were statues of angels and when you blink or when you turn away from them, they will scare you to DEATH!! We also acted out the cybermen, the robots who were human, Dr who writers say that they were deleted by cybermen then they upgraded them into  cracking killing machines. After that week we had to write the whole play script in mini groups. My group was about an alien coming inside the tardis and they were trying to steal it , the doctor had to die then when he regenerated the wind from his body blew their fire hair off, ( which was there life sentence) and they blew up and flew away in space. The winning group from our class was Abshir’s group

We still had a fun time of learning Dr Who but we went to exciting trips and wonderful events. I think the Dr who trip was the best, we also went to another country , but it was a boring  way to the museum and it was a terrible way home. We were suppost to come home at 7 o’ clock but we come back at 9  o’ clock. At  St Fagan’s ( Museum of welsh life)  we entered a rich house from the sixteen hundreds and it was covered in red. Welsh citizens say that it was to show off  that they were rich and to keep away the dark evil spirits. Then we come to a village  filled with schools , homes , restaurants and churches. The school was very very different to our school, it was only one room with 10 benches each side and 1 desk for the teacher. They had to write on blackboards and they had to use a loud bell for when it’s home time. After when we saw the wonderful village we came inside a blacksmith’s  work area and he told us about life of being a black smith. It was very amazing to see what he had made past the years but some were made by other blacksmiths in different  years. Meanwhile we entered a small area for children to eat their lunches.

We quickly ate our lunch and drove to BBC Wales waiting and waiting till they let us in.I was screaming in my mind and I saw posters of videos they act here such as Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures and Dr Who. We were greeted by 2 tour guides and they glided us to the attic of Sarah Jane. Everyone  ran to the attic and we saw Mr Smith opened and we played with the controls. Outside was the props used in the episode its self  ,  too bad her sonic  screwdriver wasn’t there , it would of been madness. I loved going to the attic because it was amazing to see Mr Smith in action.

After that we walked to a room filled with Doctor Who props, there were heads of monsters and they felt weird , I picked the pig monster’s nose and it was hilarious. We walked further in the studio and then we came to a stop. The tour guides tip toed up to the tardis and we followed them up to the Tardis door. The guides opened the door and there was the TARDIS. Everyone ran to the controls and played with them till the end of the trip. Happiness raised up and tears came out of children’s eyes. At the end we took a class photo and we said good bye to the tardis , and we drove back home.

There was a little bit of difficulties in year5 that I could’nt understand until I tried it myself. The Dr Who scripts were very hard and Mr Sloan told us to nearly change the whole of our script, but it was easy at the end because me and my group came up with a different script and I think it was a whole lot better then our old script. The last difficult task was to finish our work in a short amount of time , when I write a stroy I have a wonderful plan but it all goes wrong when we have to finish so I think of a simple solution then I quickly finish the story with horrible ending.

In Year5 it was very awesome but I love being Mr Sloan’s student and I did hate it a bit but not much, Hope it goes well in year6.
